30 SHOW CHAMPIONS AND OVER 200 CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES
Welcome to Pitswarren Hungarian Vizslas owned by Peter and Liz Harper.
Pitswarren kennels was established in 1976 and continues to be successful at the very highest levels winning more Best of Breed’s at Crufts Dog Shows, Breed Championship Shows, Best In Show’s,Top Puppy awards and Top Breeder awards than any other Hungarian Vizsla kennels in the UK.
Pitswarren Hungarian Vizslas are considered by many around the world to be one of the most successful Hungarian Vizsla Kennels ever.
To date Pitswarren have 30 Show Champions and have won in excess of 200 Challenge Certificates and almost as many Reserve Challenge Certificates. This is an outstanding achievement within the world of dog showing.
Apart from our initial foundation stock all of our winning dogs have either been home bred or sired by Pitswarren Stud Dogs.
At Pitswarren we have bred or owned 30 Show Champions and have another 18 Challenge Certificate holders besides Reserve Challenge Certificate and Stud Book holders. We have winners at the very highest levels in Hungarian Vizslas, Wirehaired Vizslas, Sussex Spaniels and Welsh Springer Spaniels.
Noteable Events at Pitswarren.
We (Peter and Liz) were the first couple to award Challenge Certificates to both the Hungarian Vizslas and the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas.
Sh Ch Pitswarren Planet JW ShCM has the distinction of being the top winning owner bred and handled UK Vizsla ever, a title previously held by our own Sh Ch Pitswarren Levi.
Sh Ch Magnus Fortuna Pitswarren JW is the youngest ever Show Champion in the breed winning his title at 12.5 months old.
Sh Ch Metropolis Patriarch Nexus by Pitswarren - is the youngest ever Challenge Certificate winner in the breed at 6.5 months December 2019.
CRUFTS 2014.
Peter judged the Hungarian Vizslas at Crufts 2014 and proved a popular choice receiving an exceptional entry both in quality and type from the UK and overseas.
CRUFTS 2017.
We (Peter and Liz) were both invited by the Kennel Club to judge at Crufts 2017. Peter was judging Hungarian Wired Haired Vizslas and received a record entry and Liz the Hungarian Vizslas with entries in excess of almost all recent championship shows . We were the first couple to ever award Challenge Certificates to these breeds at the same Championship Show and the first ever to do so at Crufts. We were thrilled and honoured to be given this opportunity and particularly pleased with the quality and the number of dogs entered for us to judge.
MAY 2025.
Show Champion Pitswarren Jiko JW became our 30th Show Champion bringing our total number of Challenge Certificates won to 211.
JULY 2025.
DOGS AUSTRALIA. Award CH. Pitswarren Judah of Hubertus (UK) the Sire of Merit. The first and only UK bred Hungarian Vizsla to have this awarded.
